Si Gordon

Raised on the rugged coast of Cornwall in South West England, Si grew up immersed in the soul, funk and early 80's electronic sounds that would shape his musical identity. Influenced by pioneers such as George Clinton, Bootsy Collins, Giorgio Moroder and Kraftwerk, these formative years became the foundation of a career spanning more than 35 years.

A composer, producer, engineer, educator and DJ, Si has continually evolved across underground dance music, commercial media and creative education, while remaining deeply rooted in soul, disco, funk and deep electronic music.

Throughout the 1990s, Si founded and fronted the pioneering event brand Natural Rhythm, helping establish the deep and progressive house sound in the South West of England. The promotion hosted legendary artists including Sasha, John Digweed, Nick Warren, Dave Seaman, Anthony Pappa, Blue Amazon, Fathers of Sound and Claudio Coccoluto, among many others. As resident DJ, Si's reputation quickly spread beyond Cornwall, leading to national and international appearances, touring with brands such as Renaissance and Ministry of Sound.

In 2004, the acclaimed Stereo Mutants partnership firmly established Si within the international house scene. Over the next fifteen years, his productions and remixes appeared on respected labels including Defected, Soulfuric, Hardsoul Pressings, Sony/BMG, MN2S, Bubblesoul Music, Duffnote and Maya Records. Collaborations and remixes for artists including Sam Sparro, Central Avenue, DJ Dove, Keith Thompson, DJ Meme and Clemens Rumpf contributed to an impressive catalogue of more than 150 releases.

Warm, emotional and groove-driven, Si's sound effortlessly blends house with disco, funk and boogie, but above all he just loves all things deep underground. Rich electronic harmonies blended with live instrumentation and infectious percussion have become hallmarks of his sound both as a DJ and producer. As a DJ, Si has travelled extensively throughout Europe, Australia, Asia and the US. Despite an international résumé, he remains passionate about intimate venues where genuine connections with audiences can be made.

Away from the stage, his audio post production work has also reached global audiences through television, film and broadcast, with music and sound design featured on big shows and TV ads across the world such as American Idol, Oprah Winfrey, Sky Sports, Channel 4, ITV, Miami Ink, America's Next Top Model, MTV Europe, Ribenna, Storm Watches and many more. Si's expertise span composition, recording, mixing, mastering, music business, artist development, education and intellectual property. A lifelong student of sound and an unapologetic lover of vintage synthesizers, he continues to fuse live musicianship with electronic production, creating music defined by soulful textures, deep rhythms and timeless musicality.
