About Us

Slack Wax Records

Slack is a creative arts label born in Cornwall, UK - built slowly, deliberately, and with a healthy disregard for rushing things.

The name comes from the twelve-year stretch it took Paul and Tyrone to finally bring the idea into the world. What began as a long-running conversation between friends has grown into a collective of six people, each bringing their own discipline, experience and obsession to the table. Slack is the result of patience, persistence and the right people arriving at the right time.

At its core, Slack is a home for electronic music - House, Techno, Leftfield and everything that sits between, beside or beyond those lines.

The sound is eclectic by design: club-focused when it needs to be, experimental when it wants to be, and always open to strange corners, unusual textures and unexpected ideas. Think less genre box, more creative frequency.

But Slack is not just a record label.

We exist to connect music with the wider creative arts: audio-visual work, painting, print, 3D design, animation, moving image and visual culture. The aim is to build a platform where sound and image can collide properly - where releases are not just tracks uploaded into the void, but creative objects with their own visual language, story and identity.
